42nd International Horn Symposium Horn Choir Competition
After the great success at last year’s symposium in Macomb, the Horn Choir Competition is back by popular demand. The purpose of the competition is to draw attention to excellence in performance and ensemble playing, as well as new and exciting repertoire for groups of six horns or more.
Awards:
- The winning ensemble will perform a 10-15 minute program in the foyer of the Queensland Performing Arts Centre, as an introduction to the final gala concert (program may, but does not have to include works performed in the competition)
- The winning ensemble may choose any 3 works from the Corniworld catalogue
- Every ensemble entering the competition may choose 1 work from the Corniworld catalogue (does not have to be performed in the competition) corresponding to the size of the group (if there are no works for that group’s particular size, any work from the catalogue may be chosen)
All works currently available from Corniworld are listed and reviewed on the musicforhorns site, with sheet music samples coming soon. Simply find the work that suits your ensemble best, and request a copy when entering the competition. A simple catalogue listing is also available.
